Seventy-One Days To Go
Yes, the big wedding day is fast approaching. To fill you in on the details, this is what happened this week in wedding planning:
- We began our premarital counseling with Pastor David Smith on Tuesday. One session down, two to go.
- We received our rings in the mail from James Avery. Mine fits and looks great, but Meg is still trying hers out--she thinks it might be a bit too tight.
- We picked up the wedding invitations last weekend and plan to finish those and mail them by Monday, Oct 29th.
We hope you will continue to check this page for updates. Also, email us to let us know how you're doing!

NEW Engagement Photos
Meg and I had some photos taken at the site of the proposal: Duke University Chapel. See them here. Much thanks goes out to Leighton Wingerd, the photographer.

A Smart Chat Program
For all of us who like to do a bit of chatting on the internet, it sometimes gets messy downloading and installing and running MSN messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AOL IM, ICQ, and iRC. Well, Cerulean Studios has come up with a solution -- Trillian Chat. It can incorporate all of the aforementioned chat programs, AND import all your buddy lists. I highly recommend it, as it makes chatting simpler, and you don't have to run three different programs to talk to your friends who are only on one chat program. Check it out!

A Special Message about E-mail Forwards
I like a good joke about as much as the next guy (as long as it's decent), and an occasional forwarded email is fine. However, when people forward on a guilt trip on you with religious overtones (and undertones), I fight off the initial temptation to forward it on to everyone in my address book. You know the one: "If you truly believe in Jesus, you will forward this to ten friends (including the one who sent it to you)." Have you ever wondered what the point of that last bit was? Why should I forward it back to the person who sent it to me? So that they will know that I am spiritual? Anyway... a very good article was written on the subject: and if you like, take a look: >Fwd: >Fw: >FWD: >Fwd: Oh, Migosh! (you gotta read this!)!?! Oh, and if you don't want to read this, I won't question your devotion to Jesus.
Peace.

A Weekend To Remember
Meg surprised me this weekend. She had told me to reserve the enitre weekend for something, but didn't tell me what it was. On Friday night, she picked me up from my apartment and took me to Chic-Fil-A for dinner, and afterwards she drove us to the North Raleigh Hilton for the Family Life Marriage Conference. No, we didn't stay overnight there. But the seminars and discussions were valuable beyond description. I recommend it to any couple--married or engaged. The principles and truths mentioned at this conference will help and enhance ANY couple's relationship--if you choose to listen and apply them. No matter if you are at a "2" in your relationship or at a "9.9," this conference will inspire you to the next level. Well, enough from me--read for yourself at FamilyLife.com.
