My Few Minutes of Fame
In case you weren't able to hear me on the radio this weekend, you can listen to the show via the web. To just listen to the segment in which I was a contestant, go to April 27 Show and go about halfway down the page, and click on the second listing of 'Listener Limerick Challenge' - (Listen with Real Audio), which is right below 'Round 3.'

Turn on the Radio
Hey everybody! I hope you have had a good week, and have fun plans for the weekend.
I just found out yesterday that I will be on a radio game show called 'Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!' on NPR Radio. The show will be taped in front of a live studio on Thursday, April 25th and aired that weekend, time depending on your local NPR station's schedule. In the Raleigh area, you can tune in to 91.5 FM at noon on Saturday, April 27th to hear the show on which I will be a contestant.
I am very excited! I will be playing a game called 'Who's Carl?' where Carl Kasell will read a quote from the week's news headlines and I will have to guess who said it.

If you don't know at what dial position your local npr station is, visit NPR's Member List. Also, find out when your station is airing the show here.

Unfortunately, Houston's NPR station--KUHF--does not carry the show, but you should be able to listen to the show on the internet when it's posted.

Have a great weekend!

April 14 Update from Meg

Family and Friends Update: Sunday 14 April 02
Headline: Ansel and Pixel Arrive !!

Well, folks, we have our first babies. Ansel and Pixel Dreifuss arrived in our house a few hours ago. Both are 6 week old tabby kittens - and they are the cutest things in the world! Right now, they are both asleep under the futon in our guest bedroom (behind me as I type this). It's amazing how tiny they are - and it feels like a small taste of having a baby - they cry and we have no idea what they are trying to tell us. We'll see how their first few nights go. We are so excited about their arrival, and will be sharing pictures with you as soon as we get them developed.

This week we had the chance to put up our first real wedding pictures on the web. Check them out at the following WebShots address:

http://community.webshots.com/user/isbert

There are two different albums with shots taken by Ed and Linda Ferguson, who are friends of the family. We hope you enjoy them and would love your feedback! We will continue putting pictures up as we get them developed and scanned in and we will let you know when it has been updated.

We are happy to announce that Sara and Nathan Krupke, who you may have met at our wedding, had their baby this past Tuesday. Sara was a bridesmaid and Nathan was an usher and expert cameraman. Trevor Nathan Krupke was born on Tuesday in Houston. Please pray for both Mom and baby as Trevor came a bit earlier than was expected due to some complications. He is doing better, but is still in need of prayer. An answered prayer came today when we found out that he and Sara are both at home.

We also held our first garage sale yesterday morning. It was a great success! It feels great to get cash for cleaning your house out - and others get to enjoy things that would otherwise be collecting dust. We also had friends over for gaming and dinner on Saturday night, continuing our hospitality ministry.

Both of us have been really busy with work, and this week seems like it will be no different. My work (Meg) is proving to be incredibly stressful, with the new software implementation - so I'm praying for a good attitude to get through the next few weeks. Bert's company's software upgrade has been pushed back to the first of May, and has to work extra hours to test it before it is released, which is making life stressful for him as well.

Well, that's it from Raleigh for today. The azaleas and hydrangeas are in spectacular display - and life is good. Hope you would say the same where you are!

Yours in Christ -
Meg and Bert

Wedding Album on WebShots
Well folks, we finally got our digital pictures up on the web. It took me finding an easier way to do it. I have created two albums on Webshots. Take a look and let us know what you think. Have a great day!

Cold Camping Trip
This past weekend, my wife Meg and I took our first camping excursion as a married couple. We didn't go far--only about 80 miles away to Cliffs of the Neuse State Park, which is near Goldsboro, NC. We had fun setting up camp, trying to keep a fire lit, cooking dinner over a small one-burner camping stove, and hiking for hours on the handful of trails there. The most interesting part of our weekend was hearing a strange noise at about 4:15 am. It woke both of us up, and had us wide-eyed and wondering for about an hour. We heard a noise quite like a woman screaming, except the exact noise was replicated several times. Visions of Blair Witch danced in our heads. We eventually went back to sleep, and the next day inquired to the Park Ranger and found out it was the sound of a bobcat. Although they can attack, they don't usually if not provoked. To tell you the truth, the unknown is scarier than many a woodland creature.
Oh yeah, and it was dern cold. It got down to the thirties at night. Brrrrrr!
Now we're back in civilization, enjoying the 70 degree weather here in Raleigh.

We hope you're doing well. Drop us a line to let us know what you're up to in your neck of the woods.
