Weaving through Film
Last night, I was watching Lord of the Rings on DVD, when I noticed that a certain character looked like a character in one of my other favorite movies. Many of you have probably figured this out already, but I just put the two together. I am impressed with Hugo Weaving's versatility as an actor. To refresh your memory, here is a pic of him in LOTR, and here is a pic of him in the Matrix. And here is his film resume. Pretty impressive.

More Piper
The November 10th sermon is an essential follow-up to the previous week's sermon. I am sure this series isn't through yet. I tell you, I haven't got it all figured out, but what 'formerCalvinist' (see comments under Nov 15th's post) said really struck a chord in me. Read on and bring your comments!

Talking Amongst Ourselves
For those of you who read this Blog on a somewhat regular basis, I have an idea. I would like to have a discussion that starts with a webpage link. You can reply with the Comments box or through email. If you would like to participate, please do so! You don't have to sign up or commit to anything. Just read the text from the link and comment or email. However, if you would like others to read your views, please use the comment box at the bottom of this post.

We'll start with this one. After reading John Piper's November 3rd sermon, I wanted to hear others' viewpoints. This is my first exposure to Piper, and I find his style very palatable. Please be thoughtful in your comments, and note that the use of scripture is always welcome.

If I get a decent amount feedback from this, I will make this a regular thing (twice monthly?).

update on dreifuss.org
Thanks to Greg for getting rid of the banner ad! Now, we have ad-free domain forwarding! In other words, no banner ad--and dreifuss.org points straight to the BaM Blog. Business as usual for most of you, but with a memorable address. As you were... :)

dreifuss.org is here!
...although with an annoying banner ad at the bottom. I was informed this morning that is the 'cost' of going with the cheapest URL forwarding service, which comes 'free' with the domain name. Anyway, this is just the newest development in the ever-changing BaM website presence. In a few months, we will be considering purchasing hosting services (so that all the website pages are actually at dreifuss.org), and a digital camera to fill it with content.

Thanks for stopping by.

dreifuss.org coming soon!

I registered through register.com for dreifuss.org. The forwarding should start working in 24-72 hours, as the automated message informed me. We will still be on Greg's moyl.com domain for a while, but at least we will have a memorable location address.

So, stay tuned... pretty soon we'll be available through surname!

Digital or No?
Meg and I have been debating over whether to purchase a digital camera. Here are the arguments, for and against:

Pros...
Instant feedback, so that one can determine whether a shot is worth keeping--no wasted film!
Less time spent uploading (no time-consuming scanning).
A website with more updated photos. Since it's easier and quicker, we'll do it more.
No film processing costs.

Cons...
Nothing physical to place in photo albums.
If you wanted prints, would still have to pay for photo quality paper, ink cartridges, OR more expensive developing.
Can get the CD or online photos from Wal-Mart for a few dollars extra when getting regular developing done.
High cost of good digital camera.

Please let us know your thoughts by clicking on the Comment link below and giving us your perspective.

Thanks!

Mark Dumais Preaches This Sunday

My cousin Mark, who lives here in Raleigh, is preaching his first sermon at Christ Our Hope Presbyterian Church.
We'll be there tomorrow, and will be recording the sermon. Hopefully, we'll get the sermon in some usable format posted to this website.

Stay tuned for more details.
