Meg and I finished watching 'The Two Towers' special edition on DVD last night. We then began watching one of the documentaries included in the bonus materials. It's really quite fortunate that the Tolkien story was entrusted to such a talented lot of movie folk. It would really be an awful thing to see a B-movie adaptation of LOTR with bad casting.

Just imagine the following:
Macaulay Culkin as Frodo
Christopher Lloyd as Gandalf
Brendan Fraser as Aragorn
Paul Reubens as Gollum

Not that it wouldn't be funny in a MST3K sorta way, but still...

When You Care Enough...
As I walked the aisles of a local Hallmark store yesterday, I mentioned to a clerk that they have a greeting card for just about everything! Then, I walked over to a section and saw this label: ACCIDENT CHILD. What the...!? I just about dropped my jaw. The execs at Hallmark HAVE to draw the line somewhere. I mean, what's next -- a 'Sorry-you-got-knocked-up' greeting card?

Then I looked at the label behind it -- ILLNESS CHILD. And then I felt very stupid.

On a more serious note, Emily had a great checkup with the Pediatrician. She's now at 7 pounds, 9 ounces. So, she's way ahead of schedule. Babies lose a few ounces after birth and are supposed to get back to their birth weight within about three weeks. Emily's already an overachiever -- just like her mommy!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the birth of EMILY ANNE DREIFUSS.

Born Sunday, November 9, 2003 at 10:31am, she weighed in at 7 pounds & 7 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches in length.

We cannot express the joy that we have in our new little daughter.

Praise the Lord for a good delivery and a healthy baby girl.

Update
Meg just got back from her appointment. Doc says everything looks fine, and according to schedule. She's dilated 3 centimeters! So, we're definitely in the last days. He said that what she's been experiencing lately was most likely contractions, but not the 'oh-my-goodness-where's-the-diaper-bag' variety. He said to keep tabs on 'em and when they get to be consistent to give them a call. You know we will. And we'll keep you updated as well as we can.

Have a great weekend!

One Week to Wait?
Emily's due date is next Friday, but I'm not sure how much longer she wants to wait. Meg had some abdominal pain last night that might have been contractions, but we're not sure. She's scheduled for a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so we should have some news later today. Please be praying that all goes well with our daughter's arrival.

Stay tuned...
