Cruise Over to the Dark Side
After seeing the evidence (his interview with Matt Lauer and THIS VIDEO), it is crystal clear - Tom Cruise is Lord of the Sith.
You'd never have guessed it -- just like the senators of the Republic and the Master Jedi never sniffed out Palpatine. But now he's let himself be known as his true self. Poor Katie - she'll be known as the next Padme Amidala.

Who are the Ad Wizards that came up with That!?
Lately, when Meg and I have been watching television, we've noticed an increasingly abundant phenomenon: insanely stupid advertising.
Now that I sit down to write this, I fail to remember most of the horrid examples -- probably because I have blocked out the painful memories. I won't even get started on Mr. Info over there.
One ad campaign that does come to mind, however, is the Lance Cracker radio ads. I've got WHAT WHERE???? How did this ad campaign slip through to the mainstream media? It should be reserved exclusively for the Howard Stern show.
But what I really hate are ads that insult the intelligence of the viewer. There's a realtor ad that shows a couple looking for a home IN THE SWAMP and IN THE DESERT. They then finally submit to the powers that be and get the help of a friendly, knowledgable agent. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?? Seriously, who are the people who come up with -- and more importantly, approve such drivel!?
It's almost worse than the Apprentice ads for Dove body wash. A L M O S T.
Which brings me to the good campaigns. Speaking of Apprentice -- this show has done an excellent job at placement and promotion of the sponsor's products. Heck, I even purchased a Desk Apprentice. And I want to buy one of those shiny new Solstice Roadsters. Well, OK -- who doesn't.
One of the ad campaigns that I really applaud is the one for Oral-B. The tagline says it all: "Brush like a Dentist." It's short, clever, to the point, and appeals to its target audience. Give these ad guys a bonus!
To the others, I'd say: "YOU'RE FIRED!"
