The 2005 Christmas Letter

OK, you didn't ask for it - but here it is:
The 2005 Christmas Letter

OK, so it's more like a photo montage of the year's events. But it's now online!

'Tis the Season

Contrary to what you may believe as a result of my last posting, I am neither a grinch or a scrooge. To prove you this, I have posted a link and commentary to a gift-giving guide for the holidays over on the Gaming page.

Holly Jolly Folly

It's only the first of December and I'm already sick of Christmas music. No, actually just sick of Burl Ives. Well, no actually it's just the ONE SONG.

I believe I've heard this song TWENTY times in the last two weeks. What's the deal!? Granted, my wife could listen to Christmas music 24/7/365 (and DOES close to that these days), and that's not so bad (especially since I have my mp3 player), but I KNOW there are more songs to put in the rotation to bump Burl down to thrice a day!

The infernal lyrics keep sloughing through my poor brain so much that I have started the following dialogue in my head:

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Not bad the first 40,000 times you hear it, but....
It's the best time of the year

...not when I have to listen to THIS!
I don't know if there'll be snow,
But have a cup of Cheer

What is this - attempted poisoning by detergent??
Have a holly jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet

Who has time for this??
Ho ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me

You hittin' on my lady, pal!?
Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear

How is that possible?
Oh bygolly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year

Well, geewillikers, you too - and a happy new year -- I'm switching the station!
