Family Update
(from Meg)

Here's a quick update ...

Praise God the weather has improved! It's supposed to be in the 60's all this week. It is a welcome answered prayer, because I thought that I was going to go crazy if it was in the 30's for another week. How do people up North do it?

In the past few days, let me tell you of the little things that have "filled our cup" ...

  • a friend coming over to watch the kids so that Bert and I could go to church together

  • a letter with pictures from Em's little friends saying how they had missed her at church

  • care packages from friends and my MOPS group with new toys/games, etc for Emily to enjoy

Not to mention all the prayers and words of encouragement. We are truly blessed!

The quick update on Logan's test results are that one came back questionable - the acid level in his blood is high. We are hoping this was a fluke and will go back in two weeks to retest. In the mean time, we are stuffing everything possible down
his hatch and keeping him away from as many germs as we can.

So, I have to share this little "Mom" story with you. Last week, there was a townhome fire here in Raleigh that destroyed over 30 homes. Our church has become a center for donations and care for these families. Yesterday, I decided that each of us would give one thing to Red Cross for these folks. I explained the situation to Emily - that there were families that had lost everything in the fire and asked her what she wanted to give.

She decided to give two of her "Cars" (movie) cars. I was floored. You have to understand that she is obsessed with Cars. She plays with these EVERY day and has for almost a year now. I explained again that these would not come back to her and that another family would take them home and she didn't budge.

I was floored! She has such a loose grip on things of this world - Lord, may she always be that way. She cheerfully took her cars, along with the other donations we had and put them in the pile at church. WOW!

Ok, that's my rantings and ravings for this week!
