The Humps and Hurdles of Being Little
We found out yesterday from a visit to the pediatrician's that little Emily Anne has an ear infection. It doesn't seem to bother her too much, but the cough that she has been battling for a month has. The doctor said that he didn't think that it was anything serious, but that we would keep watching it over the next few days as we try to treat the infection. Hopefully, all of this will be cleared up by next week's post.
Bert and I were discussing the other day some of the things that we wish they would really teach you before you have a child. We would suggest classes in the following:
1) How to pick out clothes: Zippers 101 -- We never knew that we would want to have an entire closet full of zipper outfits until we changed the 1,001st diaper.
2) Stroller/Carrier Etiquette 201 -- Is it your fault or the other persons if they almost run into you because they weren't looking? Or have you ever tried navigating through the grocery store practically blind because the carrier blocks your vision? What do you do when you run into an entire display of Jell-O?
3) How to be on time with a Baby 301 -- First, let's redefine what "on time" means to the parent of an infant - On time means within 20 minutes of an event starting and having a fully prepped baby (fed, burped, and sporting a clean diaper). This is a tremendous challenge - only to be met by the most practiced and organized of adults.
That's a start to our list of Core classes. We could think of many more, of course! Hope y'all are enjoying the ups and downs of life like us!
