Getting ready for Fall - Baby style

Well, the weather here in Raleigh is starting to cool off. The highs for next week are forecasted to be in the 60's and 70's and at night ... in the 40's!! How does that relate to Emily Anne?

Well, that means a whole new wardrobe is coming out. Gone are the onesies and the bare feet, and in come the plush booties that her Uncle John gave her last winter. Have you ever tried to put pants on an 11 month old? Have you tried holding a snake that is covered in oil? It's darn near impossible.

Emily Anne continues to cruise around our apartment, moving from box to box and chair to chair. Still no signs of walking, though. Still no signs of teeth, either.

Well, we are gearing up for her first birthday here. Can you believe it's only a few weeks away!

My how time flies!

Cruising Alert!

It’s been a while since we’ve been able to write in Emily Anne’s Baby Blog. Maybe that’s because all of our waking hours, we are trying to keep up with her. As of this morning, I caught her walking along a row of boxes. Yes, I believe, that’s an official cruising sighting.

Most of our friends and family give us only weeks before she is walking.

For her 10 month-a-versery, she said “Mama” and “Dada”. Now she runs around saying them all the time to get our attention. She is basically getting into anything that is available. Due to our impending move, we have created box “gates” that enclose our living room. We have caught her trying to get a leg over them, but she hasn’t been successful as of yet. Funny enough, Evan, the little guy that I watch who is a few months younger than Em, made a dive on Wednesday over the boxes.

What are her favorites?

Favorite snack: American cheese slices and banana wedges
Favorite toy: Little People Noah’s Ark, especially the giraffe and toucan
Favorite not allowed toy: The T.V. remote

Stay posted for report of her first step!
