Bye Bye Baby
So Emily Anne had her first birthday last week. Two parties and umpteen presents, but she's oblivious to it all. She's happy chasing the cats around the house and walking (with assistance). She gets the biggest grin on her face when I lead her around the house to practice her ambulation skills.
Other than that, she's talking up a storm -- not that we know what she means a lot of the time. But one solid skill we did see on Monday night was that we taught her the sign for 'Please' and she immediately used it! Now, it may take a while for her to use that one on her own accord, but her parents are happy nonetheless.
Yesterday Em went in for her one year appointment. She's just a shade under twenty pounds, but still quite healthy. She wasn't too happy about the inoculations, but the next group of shots will happen early next year, and then she won't go in for more until she's four.
Coming soon -- Christmas with a toddler. And we thought there were a lot of toys for her birthday.
